NFL Mock Draft 2016

Here is my attempt at the ancient ritual of predicting the first round of the NFL Draft. I didn't include any potential trades because that just turns into a fantasy draft. So here's what I think each team is going to do in the first round. Just don't hold me accountable when my predictions look like a huge disaster after five picks on Thursday night.

NFL Mock Draft No. 1-10

Today marks the official start of the NFL Offseason. Some big trades and signing have already been agreed to verbally, with more likely to follow soon. While the veterans cash in, the NFL Draft machine picks up momentum. And that means it's Mock Draft time.

Early Favorites for Super Bowl 51

The offseason brings change. Through the draft, roster cuts, and free agency, 2016 rosters will look incredibly different from just a year ago. But that doesn't mean some teams have a clear foundation laid and already favorites to make it to Super Bowl 51. Here are my top choices, starting with some repeat trips.

What If: Manning vs. Brady was a Division Rivalry?

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning had one heck of a rivalry despite not playing in the same division. But Chris examines just how close the two elite quarterbacks came to spending the prime of their rivalry in the AFC East and ponders an alternate reality where the NFL didn't re-align.

How to Fix the AFC South: Part Three

The Texans have a lot of talent at many positions. Unfortunately, their quarterback situation is less-than desired. My four-part blog series continues with Houston struggling with the same problem that plagues so many other teams in the NFL.

Scheduled for Success

On Thursday Night Football, the Indianapolis Colts beat the Houston Texans to win their 16th straight game against AFC South opponents. Since drafting Andrew Luck in 2012, they've gone 18-2 against their division rivals. Having six relatively easy games a year makes 10-win seasons look pretty simple, but not everyone is as fortunate as the Colts.

Some Thoughts on the NFL Draft

I love the NFL Draft. It's the Hall Pass of sports talk. No one holds you accountable for your predictions and thoughts because everyone is wrong about something during the draft. You can hit on your mock draft, but totally miss on first round talents actually becoming star players. Head over to our NFL Draft Preview to hear Chris and I get a lot of things wrong, and to our new CLETalk podcast to hear what we predicted for our hometown team. Anyway, it's an exciting time for a football fan, and there are always interesting storylines to talk about. Here are a few of my favorites:

What Does Chip Kelly Know That We Don't?

Truth be told, I love Tim Tebow. I hated him as a Florida Gator, because, well, he was a Florida Gator. And in college he was actually the best player in the NCAA, which is hilarious and shameful. But in the NFL, he was an honest underdog, who's greatest fault was he was too nice and generous with his faith. The funniest thing is that he actually took a team to the playoffs and won a game.
